Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney Return as Producers for 2027 Ceremony

Conan O’Brien will return to host the 99th Academy Awards, reuniting with executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan for the 2027 Oscars telecast, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday.
The ceremony will air live Sunday, March 14, 2027, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
Kapoor and Mullan return for their fourth consecutive year overseeing the broadcast, while Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney are back as producers for a third year. Sweeney will also serve as a writer on the show.
Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor praised the returning creative team, citing the “captivating, entertaining and heartfelt” broadcasts delivered over the past two ceremonies.
“We are thrilled to be working again with Conan, Raj, Katy, Jeff and Mike for the 99th Oscars,” Kramer and Howell Taylor said in a joint statement. “They are an incredible team and have produced such compelling shows over the last two years. We’re grateful for their continued partnership as we celebrate the global film community.”
Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, credited O’Brien with bringing renewed energy to the telecast.
“His singular comedic voice makes Hollywood’s biggest night one of the most entertaining celebrations of the year,” Erwich said. “We’re proud to welcome him back and look forward to what he and the producing team deliver next.”
Kapoor and Mullan described O’Brien as a key creative collaborator whose comedic instincts and off-camera leadership have shaped the recent broadcasts.
“Getting to reunite with Conan O’Brien for a third year at the Oscars is really special,” they said in a joint statement. “He brings the signature humor audiences love, along with a warmth and generosity that carries through the entire production.”
O’Brien, a six-time Primetime Emmy winner, is best known for hosting “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” and “Conan.” He currently hosts the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” and stars in HBO’s travel series “Conan O’Brien Must Go.”
Kapoor previously won an Emmy for the 96th Oscars and for executive producing “Adele: One Night Only.” His credits include the Grammys, ACM Awards, Latin Grammys and the Emmy Awards.
Mullan, an executive producer and showrunner at Done + Dusted, also earned an Emmy for the 96th Oscars. Her live-event credits span productions including the London Olympics ceremonies, “The Little Mermaid Live!” and Disney’s “Family Singalong” franchise.
Ross and Sweeney both continue long-running collaborations with O’Brien dating back to his late-night television career. Their recent credits include “Conan O’Brien Must Go” and “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.”
The 99th Oscars will be broadcast live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
