Huda Razzak produced and directed The Ocean Duck and has very successfully unravelled a particular point in the extensive Islamic theological works of the ‘Masnavi,’ Joining the old with the present is a well worked formula that Huda in the form of a very simple and refreshing animation has brought to life for the viewing pleasure of all ages.

Compliments must also be credited to the illustrations created by Katarzyna Doszla; the best way to explain them is by contradicting myself in that the animations are simple, yet at the same time screamed loudly, family, love, compassion and patience; all the basic foundation teachings for successful living.

Core messages that I got from watching the short film were, family is important, cherish the moments spent with loved ones because they will never come back, however they will live on as memories bringing a warm and lovely feeling when reminiscing. The experiences gained are a straight road to successful living, successful relationships and hopefully successful family life.

An excellent short film that is well worth watching and has qualified to be considered for the Academy Awards.
