A film review by Jamie Richardson

REMEMBERING is an eight-minute AR (Augmented reality) short film that can be seen on Disney+. This beautiful film stars newcomer Dusty Peak and shares a story of how a child’s imagination can be lost when we become adults. The film also stars Academy Award winner Brie Larson who lights up the screen as the writer in this wonderful piece.

Director Elijah Allan-Blitz has written a beautiful and profound line that sums up the film beautifully “a dream that slips away or an idea that lasts forever.” Take imagination with you, growing up!

The film from start to finish is a delicious journey of vibrant colours and nostalgic scenes of shooting stars, unicorns and waterfalls; it takes us back to days gone by when dreams felt real, and imagination was wild and untamed.

The cinematography and virtual set designs complement the core theme perfectly. The film has been considered for an OSCAR and whilst isn’t the usual gritty drama that Academy voters go for, the message alone makes Allan Blitz’ REMEMBERING deserving of a place on the shortlist!
A stunning film with a heartwarming message.
