His Mother has qualified to be considered for the 2025 Oscars, it is directed by Maia Scalia.
What is a ‘Mother?’ someone who is loving, caring, compassionate, protective, extraordinary, and much, much more.
A very down to earth and raw depiction of a mother; Maia Scalia, successfully merges what a mother is and a child’s misguided mindset; it questions the audiences view of motherhood and asks them to retrospectively think of their own mother.

Julie, played by Bethany Anne Lind is the central role in the film and it is through her performance the viewer lives the ensuing tragedy. Julie is the true epitome of what a mother is, and Lind puts in a captivating, Oscar-worthy performance of a woman who is trying hard to keep it together all whilst driving the car, fielding calls from the police and dealing with an apathetic husband, and her misguided son. Only a mother has the mental and dogged mindset to react in the way that Julie does in the tragic and traumatic drama that unfolds.
Executive producer Eileen Kelly, a mental health advocate, who has been called the Dr. Ruth of the 21st Century by the New York Times, was an excellent choice in the production of the film.
Director of Photography Matt Clegg, I feel must also be mentioned; his close-up cinematography with very little outside interference was instrumental in keeping the viewer glued to the film and successfully drawing out a ‘Mother’s Woes.’
