A Glimpse tells the story of a woman who decides to take a leap in life after meeting a mysterious stranger. This film stars the Oscar-winning Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton (The Silent Child). A Glimpse will be receiving its world premiere at Raindance Film Festival 2019.

A busy Londoner’s life is side-tracked when an encounter with a spontaneous stranger in a cafe inspires her to take a chance on a more uncertain future.

Director and Writer Tom Turner graduated with a degree in Film Production in 2013. Turner’s award-winning directorial debut Lapse was the biggest production in his University’s history. His horror short film The Tooth Fairy won the Spotlight Horror Short Film Award. In 2017, Tom was the assistant director on The Silent Child. His short A Glimpse was filmed over a 2 year period to portray the passing of time, and will world premiere at Raindance Film Festival in 2019.

Producer Rebecca Harris, who is a full-time producer at Slick Films, made her debut as a producer on Oscar-winning The Silent Child, which highlighted the lack of education for deaf children worldwide. Harris was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of West London for raising awareness. Alongside A Glimpse, Rebecca’s upcoming films include Stand Still which will premiere at BFI London Film Festival 2019, and she is currently in pre-production for 2k20, a film directed by Iggy LDN and supported by The Uncertain Kingdom.

The cast includes actress and Oscar-winning writer Rachel Shenton (White Gold, Switched at Birth – actress, The Silent Child – writer/actress) and also actor and Oscar-winning director Chris Overton (Pride – actor, The Silent Child – director).

Ali Farahani whose work includes The Krays: Dead Man Walking and The Silent Child created the breathtaking cinematography, British Composer James Wedlock composed the music and A Glimpse was co-written by Sam Berrill. It was produced by TurnStyle Productions, in association with Slick Films.

A Glimpse will screen at Raindance Film Festival on Thursday 26th September and Friday 27th September.
