Clarissa Jacobson’s Lunch Ladies is a perfect balance of Horror and Comedy

Lunch Ladies teaser

Lunch Ladies is making its mark on the film festival world and it is easy to see why, Clarissa Jacobson’s writing has to be commended, as getting a perfect balance of horror and comedy in one film is no easy feat. The well-rounded characters and addictive storyline are sure to keep you glued to the screen, and left wanting more!

Donna Pieroni is a complete scene-stealer as the larger than life dinner lady Seretta and I wouldn’t be surprised if this wonderful actress lands the lead in a big budget comedy very soon. Every day Seretta and LouAnne (Mary Manofsky) serve inedible looking school lunches to disrespectful children and are given a glimmer of hope after receiving a letter from their idol Johnny Depp’s charity. They are convinced that Johnny will hire them as his personal chefs and their lives will change forever, but will they?

Clarissa Jacobson created the comedy horror Lunch Ladies and it has already amassed an impressive following, especially in the horror genre. Writer/Producer Clarissa Jacobson started out as an actress performing off-Broadway and in numerous film and voice-over roles before realizing her true passion was writing.  A long-standing member of Twin Bridges Writing Salon, she has several scripts under her belt including the full-length version of Lunch Ladies and the recently optioned Stella By Starlight.

This little gem of a film is directed by J.M. Logan and has just screened at the prestigious Palm Springs International ShortFest. We adore Lunch Ladies and think you will too, that is why we are awarding this wonderful film a big shiny 5 stars!

Here is a fun little interview with Clarissa Jacobson.
