This morning, the nominees for the EE Bafta awards were revealed at the BAFTA HQ in Piccadilly (London). Before starting announcing them, Bafta chair Jane Lush talked about the turbulent times the film industry is going through when it comes to the equality between women and men, especially after the sexual harassments revealed last year. She mentioned that the British Academy of Film and Television Arts would soon publish a “unified set of principles and guidelines to ensure the brave revelations become a watershed moment for lasting change in the workplace of film and television” According to her, it’s not #MeToo but #WeToo. As a (film) society who needs to stand together and make sure that those practices will never happen again.
